Childhood

Why is it that when we are young and carefree we wish to be old and responsible?

Why aren't swing sets and barbie dolls enough?

Why do naptimes seem like a painful tradition depriving us of true happiness?

Why do we grow up before we're ready?

Why can't we, as children, comprehend just how good we have it?

...
...

Why can't I just go back and have a few more years to grow and learn and play and swing and nap before I have to make hard choices and do responsible things? It's really hard. and very scary.

“For in every adult there dwells the child that was, and in every child there lies the adult that will be.”
